* Drinking moderate amounts of alcohol (no more than one drink per day for women, and two drinks or less per day for men)
* Maintaining a healthy body mass index (BMI) in the range of 18.5 to 24.9

The Impact of These Habits

The results of the study are nothing short of remarkable. Practicing all five habits from age 50 onward can extend life by more than a decade compared to practicing none of them. Women who adopt these habits can expect to live to 93, while those who don’t may live to only 79. Similarly, men who practice these habits can live to nearly 88, while those who don’t may live to only 75. These findings underscore the profound impact of our daily choices on our long-term health and well-being.
