Breathtaking Icicle Formations Attract Tourists in Japan Town
In a bid to attract more visitors, a town located north of Tokyo is showcasing a breathtaking display of icicles, elevated by the use of projection-mapping technology to amplify its visual impact.
The impressive icy spectacle, situated in Yokoze Town, Saitama Prefecture, stretches an astonishing 30 meters in height and 200 meters in width, creating a truly unique winter wonderland.
Each year, local tourism officials and residents collaborate to craft this frozen marvel by spraying water from a nearby stream onto the slope, resulting in the formation of this massive, glittering ice display.
To further enhance the experience, organizers are utilizing projection-mapping technology to cast vibrant lights onto the icicles, transforming the scene into an enchanting winter landscape.
A young visitor, in her 20s, expressed her awe at the sight, describing it as “truly beautiful” and likening the experience to witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the aurora.
The icy attraction will remain open to the public until February 23, offering a limited-time opportunity for visitors to marvel at its splendor.
